Officer Dennis Bergman was taken to the hospital after a 2017 Toyota Camry struck him at the corner of South Street and Madison Avenue at 7:20 p.m. Thursday, Lt. Stuart Greer told the Daily Record.

Bergman, a 14-year veteran with the department, was directing traffic around an emergency utility crew. He was taken to Morristown Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries, the article says.

The car that struck the officer was driven by Harold Kofma, 43 of Morristown, the media outlet says.

Greer was not available for comment when Daily Voice called at 12:30 p.m. Friday.
